All children in Reception, Year 1 and year2 will continue to have the government-funded Universal Infant Free school meals (UIFSM)

 Children moving from year 2 to 3 in September will have to start paying for school meals unless they are eligible for free school meals by claiming qualifying benefits.

Any Children starting Reception in September can also apply for free school meals if they think they are eligible, but would still be entitled Universal Free meals if not.
