Year 1 - Autumn 1 Key Information

Welcome to Year 1!

I hope you have all had a lovely summer.

In the post below, you will find information on what we will be covering this half-term, key reminders/dates and our Year 1 expectations.

Parent's Meeting
We will be holding a parent's meeting after school at 3.30pm this Thursday (5th September) in the Year 1 classroom. In this meeting, we will talk about the changes between Year 1 and EYFS and hopefully be able to answer any questions you may have.

Our Autumn 1 Learning Focus

We will start the year by learning more about 'Us and our world'. We will look at the ways we belong in different groups, how we can investigate the world using our senses, and our favourite toys from the past and present! Attached below, you will find an overview of the learning units we will be exploring this half-term.

To support our history unit 'Childhood Toys', please could you send your child in with the following items:
- Wednesday 11th September -  three photographs of your child as a baby, toddler and child. We will be looking at the stages humans go through as they grow and placing our photographs in chronological order.
Wednesday 18th September - please can your child bring their favourite toy to school.
NB: Please avoid sending your child in with electronic devices - battery-operated toys are perfectly fine!
