Hello Everyone!

Welcome back! I hope you had an excellent summer holiday. I'm very excited for the new school year and getting to know each of you in Year 4 (Stan Lee Class). Below, you'll find a blog with all the information for this half-term, including key dates.

This Term's Focus

This term, we have some very exciting topics to explore, with our main focus being "The Deep Blue Abyss." For more details on what we will be learning, please check the curriculum map and our knowledge organiser for this term.

Class Texts

This term, we will be reading two books related to our topic: Stan Lee: Little People, Big Dreams and Song of the Dolphin Boy. If you have a copy at home, please feel free to bring it in to read along.

Year 4 Expectations

• Reading: Students should read at least three times a week at home, and home-school books must be signed each week. You may also attend Reading Lair if it fits your routine.

• Doodle Apps: Students should stay in their green zone on DoodleMaths, DoodleTables, and DoodleSpell (this requires approximately 40 minutes each week). New passwords and logins can be found in the front of the home-school book.

• Bronze Reading Challenge: Encourage your child to participate in the Bronze Reading Challenge (details can be found at the back of the home-school book).

• Class Blog: Please check the class blog regularly to see what we’re doing in school.

• PE Kits: Ensure that PE kits are brought each week for our PE days on Tuesday and Thursday.

Times Tables

In Year 4, students are expected to practice their times tables daily to prepare for the MTC test in June.This can be done on Doodle tables.

• Half-Term: Monday, 21st October to Friday, 1st November 2024
