Year 1 at Keyworth Library

Our visit to the local library.

Check out the photos here!

Year 1 had a fantastic visit to the village library! We learnt all about the purpose of a library and discovered how we can borrow books using our library cards.

We had time to explore lots of different books and play with some of the small world toys, using them to recreate the stories we had read. Our local library stocks all types of books; non-fiction, poetry, picture books and chapter stories!

Those of us with a library card were able to choose one book to bring back to school. When we visit again next half-term, we will be able to swap our books and choose a new one.

The children without a library card also chose a book and this has been set aside for them in the library. Books will be set aside for 1 week and they must be collected from the library.

For those of you who handed in a library form before the summer holidays, a brand-new library card has been issued to your child, and it is in their book bag.
If you would like a library card but have not yet signed up, please complete the form in your child's bookbag and return to school, or drop into the library to sign up - it's completely free!

There is a lot going on at the library. Check out their website for more information
