Visit from National Numeracy
Today Andersen class had visit from a Maths volunteer for National Numeracy who works at Capital One UK. They start the session by been introduced to our visitor Lauren who told us where she works and how she uses Maths in her job. We then look at a range of different character cards to see what jobs and hobbies they had, and our task was to think about what maths they use in their job and hobbies. We shared our ideas of as a class and then had to think of one of our own hobbies and brainstorm what maths we use for it. The children had fun thinking about which maths we learnt about and how they use that every day. The most common ones mentioned were time, money, calculations and measurement.
Here are some photos from the lesson;
As always the children were respectful and polite to our visitor and ensured they followed their keyworth code.
