Thinking about British Values.

Look at the beautiful display we have made!

In Year 6 we have been talking a lot about British Values and Protective Characteristics. In our school we know that everyone is different and that is what makes us all special. As we grow up, we want to become good people and citizens who show respect to each other and show acceptance of people who are different to ourselves.

During this lesson, the children designed their own hands depicting what made each of them special and unique. It was so lovely watching them chat freely about their similarities and differences, asking each other questions and sharing experiences. By the end of the lesson, the children knew so much more about each other and had demonstrated kindness and respect towards each other in spades. Well done Year 6!

Their final hands were so beautiful that we had to put them up somewhere in school. You can see them in Reading Lair.
