Today in Lennon class we have been creating sketches of seashells!

This morning we have been working with the children in Year 1 to take part in some very exciting Easter themed maths challenges!

We have been inventing in Lennon class today for British Science Week this afternoon!

We have looked at some Victorian inventions (some useful and some crazy!) and then had a go at creating our own!

This term we are learning all about the Victorians!

We will be looking at what life was like in Keyworth during Victorian times, as well as comparing schools then and today!

In English (unless your child is part of a phonics group) we will be continuing our Phonics get writing work, as well as VIPERs reading lessons.

In Maths we are working on measuring! We will be looking at length and width in cm and m, as well as volume and capacity - it would be great if you could do some of this at home too!

In Science we are looking at living things and their habitats!

In art, we will be studying the work of L.S Lowry and learning a bit about his life!

In computing, we are finding out about how technology has changed over time.

In JIGSAW we are learning about how to keep our minds and bodies healthy!

In RE we are learning about churches, and Easter!

PE is on Tuesdays and Fridays so please make sure your child has their kit in school on those days.

Our Christmas performance this year is The Snow Queen. 

A letter about costumes for the Christmas show has been sent home. Ticket sales will be live from Monday - keep your eyes peeled so you don't miss out!

Costumes: Year 2 children will need brightly coloured hats, scarves and gloves. Please bring costumes in to school by Monday 5th December so we can join in with whole school dress rehearsals.  
Dates: Tuesday 13th December 9.30am and Wednesday 14th December 2pm and 6.30pm

I have (hopefully!) managed to attach some songs for you to practise at home along with the lyrics. We have started learning these in school but it would be hopeful for you to have a go at home.
