What have we been up to ?
Read below to see what year 4 have been up to.
Year 4 have been working hard over the past couple of weeks across all areas. Take a look below to see what they’ve been up to!
English
In English, we have been exploring a recount of Zelda Claw and even received a special delivery of Zelda's own diary in our classroom. Through this, children have been learning to incorporate thoughts and feelings into their writing, while also using powerful descriptive adjectives and similes. Additionally, we recreated the thunderstorm from our story using instruments, helping us to imagine how we might feel and to gather new vocabulary.
Computing
In computing, we have been learning how computers represent data as numbers and use switches set to 'on' and 'off' (0 and 1) to count. We have also explored how data is stored and sorted. In one of our lessons, we delved into binary code and even created our names using binary as well as some fun facts.
Science
In science, we have been exploring the topic of sound and investigating what it is. This included going on a sound walk around the school to listen to the different sounds we could hear. We have also been learning about how sound travels.
Anti-Bulling week
As part of Anti-Bullying Week last week, Year 4 focused on the importance of respecting others and how we can demonstrate this in our daily lives. Together, we brainstormed ideas as a class and then created our own pledge cards. Here are some lovely examples, and you might even be able to spot them around school.
