World Book day 2025 and a virtual visit with Michael Rosen

WBD in Y3!

World Book Day is always a special occasion, and this year was no exception. Our celebration was filled with enchanting stories, creative activities, and inspiring virtual visits that made the day truly memorable.

We kicked off the week with an assembly led by the talented storyteller, Mike. He captivated us with his engaging tales, all beautifully connected to the book we focused on for World Book Day: "What We'll Build" by Oliver Jeffers. Mike's storytelling brought the book's themes to life, making it an unforgettable experience for everyone.

Following the assembly, on Thursday we delved into an exciting activity inspired by a poignant line from the book: "a place to stay when all is lost, to keep the things we love the most." We encouraged the children to think about places that made them feel safe and secure. Some of their thoughtful ideas included baking with their mum, spending time in their bedroom doing their favourite things, playing outside with friends, or reading their favourite books to escape to another world.

The children then expressed their thoughts and feelings through art. They drew and coloured pictures of their 'place of safety and comfort' and wrote about why these places were so special to them.
