Junior Stem DT day Y6
Information about a Junior Stem DT day.
As part of our Design and Technology curriculum, Y6 will be taking part in a full day workshop with Junior Stem and it covers the following National Curriculum objective: understanding and using mechanical and electrical systems in their products as well as applying their understanding of computing to program, monitor and control their products.
Children will learn about worm gears and bevel gears to enable machines to move in 2 different ways: spin and up and down. Children will connect a Lego structure to a tablet via Bluetooth and write algorithms to control the movement. They will also use a motion sensor and learn how to program it.
In order to contribute to the cost of the visit, we are asking for a payment of £10. Please watch out for an Eduspot link being sent to you from the school office. We are asking for payment to be made by Monday 15th April please as the DT day is on Thursday 18th April.
