Exploring the city
A snapshot into Year 1.
Geography
We went to London! We got our train tickets stamped and made our way from Nottingham to St Pancras station before making our way down the lonnnngg escalators to the London Underground!
We made our way over The River Thames and did lots of walking around (because London is very big). We passed Big Ben, The London Eye, The Houses of Parliament, St Paul's Cathedral and even The Tower of London. Before heading back to Nottingham, we stopped off at Buckingham Palace to wave hello to King Charles the third.
English
This half-term we enjoyed learning the story 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch'. Last week we started innovating this story to make it our very own new tale. We created new story maps with some actions, then sat down together to share our stories in a storyteller celebration.
Computing
We have been using 'paintz' to create our own digital art drawings! We've been learning how to use drawing tools and different shapes to recreate some beautiful artwork. Click here to practise some more at home!
Art
In art we have created watercolour sunsets and added silhouette buildings to create a skyline.
They are amazing!
