  • Times Table madness, levers and sketches.

    Published 21/11/19, by Rebecca Fowell

Sea Lion class have had yet another busy week and I am super proud of their continued enthusiasm this term. We have started our new Maths topic of multiplication and division and have been focusing on our 3's, 4's and 8 times tables. The children have thoroughly enjoyed learning these through songs, games and Maths challenges (you can find many of these great times table songs on YouTube and Timestable Rock Stars is also an incredibly useful tool to help learn these).

In Science we have been learning about levers and force by creating our own levers and using the force meters to find out the weight and force  needed to lift objects. The children then recorded their results and were able to start explaining their findings.

Yesterday in Art we began sketching and designing the metal Cogheart character we hope to create in the forthcoming weeks.

    Take care,

    Miss Fowell

  • Anti-Bullying Week

    Published 11/11/19, by Rebecca Fowell

As part of our anti-bullying week the Sea Lions discussed what bullying is and the different forms such as physical and verbal. We also talked about who we can talk to if we are being bullied and what we can do as a school to prevent bullying- to make sure we all feel happy and safe in school.

The children all gave mature and well-thought answers when they took part in this discussion.

As a side note- All children are encouraged to wear odd socks tomorrow to encourage individuality as part of our anti-bullying week!
