Covid Tests - Important

With several positive cases reported at KPNS recently, it is very important that we all understand and follow guidance around isolation and testing:

  • LFT Lateral Flow Tests - the tests you do at home  a few times a week, getting the results back in 15-30 mins: These are recommended for people WITHOUT symptoms. They should not be used if children have symptoms of covid-19.

    • Lateral Flow tests are only for people WITHOUT SYMPTOMS

  • PCR tests - these are the tests normally done at a drive through testing centre, results are normally sent by text within 24 hours. These are for people with symptoms of covid-19, EVEN MILD SYMPTOMS:

    • If you have symptoms of COVID-19, get a PCR test as soon as possible if you have any of these symptoms, even if mild:

    • a high temperature
    • a new, continuous cough
    • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste

    • Stay at home until you get your test result – only leave your home to have a test. Check if people you live with need to self-isolate

  • PCR tests are for people WITH SYMPTOMS, EVEN MILD SYMPTOMS

While cases are high at KPNS, children should not come to school if they have any symptoms OF COVID-19 , even mild ones, unless thy have had a negative PCR test from a testing centre.

We are aware that some schools have had to close recently - we do not want that to happen at KPNS.
