About Us
We are a small primary school located in the centre of the village of Keyworth.
Being built as the large junior school for the village in the 1960s we now provide a lively and stimulating learning environment for children from 2- 11 years old.
We have approximately 140 children on roll which incorporates 20 children who are part time within the Foundation Unit. Some of the children in the Foundation Unit transfer to the other local primary schools, but most stay with us for the rest of their primary education.
We have unparalleled amounts of space- so aside from each classroom we have a dedicated ICT Suite, Art Room, D&T Room, Library, After School Club and Meeting Room - that is also excellent for individual music tuition.
There is a strong family atmosphere to the school and the teachers are ably supported by a dedicated team of teaching assistants.
Our school has many groups that contribute to our success and our pupils well being. Some, like the Governors and the School Council, play an intrinsic part in the running and management of the school.
The Friends of Keyworth Primary & Nursery School not only support us in purchasing non-curriculum items for the benefit of the pupils, but also help to create the strong community feeling to the school.
Located on the school site.we have an After School Club which provides an excellent facility for out of hours provision.
We also have partnerships with Rushcliffe Play Forum (who are located in the old caretakers bungalow), Nottinghamshire Literacy Volunteers, Nottingham Trent University and Nottinghamshire PCT.
